LITTLE BALL OF SUNSHINE

This is a Map. This is a big Map. This is a Political Map of the world from 2008.
Why am I showing you a map? Why am I showing you a big map? Why on EARTH am I showing you a political map from 2008?

Well folks,
My new adviser just gave me the green light to declare my Geography major!!! Heck Yes!!
Tomorrow, I meet with the head of the English department to declare my English LLC (Lit, Lang and Culture) BA. WOOT!!! Also, she called me a little ball of sunshine.. teehehe.. I'll post a picture later to show you why (aside from the happy excited giddy mood I was in).

Also, in other news. I left my wallet at home over the weekend. It's now in the mail, but I am hungry. Sad day.

Sad day doesn't outweigh the happy day though. This good mood is downright Sunshiney :)

ALWAYS,
H.EILENE

Also, I made a new friend today :) I like today a lot. Shout out to my new friend, you know who you are. Stick with me and happy won't have to be so hard. :)

Happy FREAKIN Monday... :(

I, Miss Hannah Eilene, am an idiot.

I left my wallet at home.. my wallet has my UCard which is my meal ticket and my entrance into the gym.. and basically everything for a U of M student...  Also, my wallet has the little bit of money that I do have.. that comes in handy when I don't have my UCard.

Today is lovely. Just lovely.

Now, I have to go take a lab final that I'm pretty sure I'm going to fail.. so I'm feeling pretty crummy.

Rage Song time.. Hell yeah..

Enjoy my rage song that helps me to release my anger and attempt to move forward in a better mood.
Gives You Hell, by the All American Rejects.

Always,
H.Eilene

Sunday :) ... 12 days!

12 DAYS UNTIL:

  1. my final final
  2. reunited with my best friend (KAYLA, THAT'S YOU!!)
  3. move home with my family
  4. potentially a second niece
  5. summer

I'm pretty excited. I only have 7 finals between now and then.. (HA.. only).. I promised pictures.. but you have no idea how awesome and exciting these pictures are. You might have assumed they'd be of my niece, but they are not. My mom bought me an awesome present that will provide hours upon hours of entertainment and distraction when I'm reaching my breaking point of stress.. are you ready?

Always Yours,
H.Eilene

P.S. Today's song is my favorite song by Maroon5... Payphone.
Warning: there's some curse words

Some Days..

I feel like I'm falling apart. I feel like everything around me is tumbling down this giant mountain, and it's gaining so much speed that if I even try to fix it, I'll just end up tumbling too. Today is one of those days. I don't know how to fix it, and I'm not sure why it feels like this.. the only thing I'm sure of, is that I really hate these days.

I don't get it.. It's sunny outside, which is usually something that puts me in a fantastic mood. Both of my morning classes were cancelled, also cause for fantastic moods... but as I'm sitting here doing laundry and homework, all I want to do is go back to bed and wake up in a another day, in another place.

Environmental Conservation and Dinosaurs were cancelled today, which gave me completely free time from 8am until 3:30 this afternoon to do homework and study for finals. Here's to productivity, and here's to these crumbly feelings going away...

Usually more bubbly,
H.Eilene

Hard Work.. Focus.. and LOTS of Coffee

.....are the three things I'm gonna need to get through these next two weeks. My big MASTER PLAN was to start the week out and make sure I went to every single class... that didn't happen. BUT...
I have a paper due Friday that I wrote yesterday. I have a paper due May 4th... and it's in the works.
Now, I have a better plan.

PLAN B:

  • get all homework done BEFORE going home.
    • This includes:
      • Chapter 16 (dinos)
      • Lab 9 (and 10 but that's not due for two weeks)
      • Chapter 13 (pgeo)
      • Study Guide (wrgeo)
      • Study Guide (pgeo)
      • Essay (rel)
      • Chapter 11 and 12 (wrgeo)
  • do laundry
  • go to all classes from now on..
I have an amazing professor for Environmental Conservation.. she's not a morning person, but our class is at 8am.. so she tends to skip the graphs and charts that are too complex for sleepy brains, such as the ones here in my notes.

Luckily, I had awesome teachers in high school that made these buggers easier to handle. Being that we had morning house, the complexity of the material really didn't matter if it was only 8am.

Who ever said high school didn't prepare you for college? Mine did.. just sayin'.

Always,
H. Eilene

I should have some fun pictures for this weekend since I'll be home with Miss Violet!

I'm a big fan of Panic! At the Disco, so check out their video below.. It's one of my favorite happy songs to do homework to. :)

Politics Anger Me.

Politicians. They're great at persuasion. They're great at blowing things out of proportion, starting wars between communities and they're great at attempting to get things done. I don't mind all politicians. I won't tell you who I'm voting for in the elections, and I don't dislike either candidate.. but there are things that politicians do that make me angry.

Let's face it.. politicians are often passing policies on matters that they don't have a solid background in, transportation, education and environment being three. How many politicians have worked for some transportation department? I'm pretty sure no one passing big time legislation worked for MNDOT... and how many politicians have a solid education on the environment? I mean, really.. how many people in general have a solid background in environmental studies and environmental science?

The man who worked passing policies on the natural resources for our country in the 1980s was quoted saying he was to carry out the Scriptures and occupy the land until his savior returned... and then later quoted saying "we will mine more, drill more, cut more timber". He was in charge of our NATURAL RESOURCES... the most valuable assets in the world... things that even now, are hard to manage and understand.. Why did he get fired? Was it his lack of dedication to the real problem? Was it his lack of background in the subject? Nope. It's because he made a very blatantly racial, sexist and derogatory (for other reasons) comment as to why a piece of legislation wouldn't get passed...

That.. that makes me angry. I'm not saying it's possible to solve all the world's problems by hiring qualified people into positions of power, but hey.. it's a start.
